Why everyone thinks you're cute
© 2005 Matt Henry
for Jacinta, on your first birthday
One year later, and you're almost ready to walk,
And you're really wanting to talk,
But you're still confused.
Like when I call you, you try to eat the phone,
And when we feed you, you talk to your food.
And you're still bald, like your daddy,
Yeah you're still bald, like your daddy,
You're still bald like your daddy,
That's why everyone thinks you're cute.
You've figured out how to
Wave hello and goodbye
How to go from laugh to cry
It doesn't take much.
It can be hard to tell what it is you want,
In between "pick me up" and "don't touch!"
And you're still bald, like your daddy,
Yeah you're still bald, like your daddy,
You're still bald like your daddy,
That's why everyone thinks you're cute.
It's not your knees, it's not your nose,
It's not your eyes, it's not your toes,
We all agree, there's no dispute,
The only reason everyone thinks you're cute:
Is you're still bald, like your daddy,
Yeah you're still bald, like your daddy,
You're still bald like your daddy,
That's why everyone thinks you're cute.
One year later and you have two and two half teeth,
And they help you smile and eat,
You even use toothpaste!
With your very own little yellow toothbrush
But no brush for your hair, that'd be a waste.
Cos you're still bald, like your daddy,
Yeah you're still bald, like your daddy,
You're still bald like your daddy,
But at least for you, there's hope!
