It could be a cave where you live
Painting on the walls in the dark
Or the waves where you live
Trying not to be lunch for a shark
And if it's made of straw or sticks
Or hay or bricks or clay or sod
The only home our hearts call home
Is where our hearts know love is God.

From before never
Til after forever

You are home
We're home, alive within you
You are home
From our end to our beginning
You are home
You are home

It could be a nest where you dwell
Spread your wings you're learning to fly
Or a reef or a shell
An igloo a house a hut or a hive
If it's a mansion a cardboard box
A pile of rocks or mound of earth
Our truest home is not a place
But in the grace where love is birthed

From before never
Til after forever

You are home
We're home, alive within you
You are home
From our end to our beginning
You are home

Holiness means saying welcome home
To the homeless and the hungry welcome home
To the naked and imprisoned welcome home
To the thirsty and exhausted
To the ones we call our enemy
To all and one another
Welcome home

We're home, alive within you
You are home
From our end to our beginning
You are
From before never
Til after forever
You are home
