Where did you come from?
What are you trying to do?
Hey, Jesus,
Where are you going
You can't walk on the water, can you?

Hey, Jesus,
I hear you call to me
But I don't want to come out
Hey, Jesus,
I'm tossed by waves of fear,
Thinking and sinking in doubt.

Hey, Jesus,
Our hearts are drumming fear,
Our hope is barely afloat.
Hey, Jesus,
In the midst of this
You call us out of the boat.

Hey, Jesus,
Is darkness light to you?
Is the water like land?
Hey, Jesus,
Can you hold on to us
If we don't reach for your hand?

Hey, Jesus,
There are so many waves,
So many ways to fail.
Hey, Jesus,
When fear empties us,
A little faith will fill up our sail.
