My soul magnifies the Lord.

Above her own

In darkness and doubt, the angel consoles,
"Peace be with you, don't take fright.
Trust the beauty of your soul,
Trust the wonder of this night."
There is a strength beyond all reason,
Mary's strength grows out of faith alone,
Trusting God's will above her own,
This is the strength we know.
Imagine the fear she overcame,
Called by God to bear the One.
Jesus would be his name,
And she trusted God's will above her own.
There is a strength beyond all reason,
Mary's strength grows out of faith alone,
Trusting God's will above her own,
This is the strength we know.
Knowing in time he'd journey away,
This beautiful child, raised with her love,
Seeking God as his way,
So she trusted God's will above her own.
There is a strength beyond all reason,
Mary's strength grows out of faith alone,
Trusting God's will above her own,
This is the strength we know.
Seeing her son dying in pain,
Aware there was nothing that she could do,
His suffering was for all people's gain,
And she trusted God's will above her own.
There is a strength beyond all reason,
Mary's strength grows out of faith alone,
Trusting God's will above her own,
This is the strength we know.
